There are few times in the life of the filmmaker when he is offered a job he would probably pay to do. This was one of them -- in which every car dream I had came true. BMW gave us their best and newest machines. We took many of their precious cars from their museum and drove them in the country. We spent days in the factory with the most dedicated engineers and technicians. Some how we organized Hans Stuck to drive a factory racing car, painted by Alexander Calder, through Munich. This was not a car company, but a collection of enthusiasts who also would probably have worked for nothing. During wild, sleepless months I made my favorite documentary. I am only now working on films that are as satisfying and exciting.
